Qwani is a youth-led creative collective that provides a platform for young creatives to showcase their work — including publishing, events, performances, and exhibitions.
3. Eligibility
You may use our services if you can form a binding agreement under applicable law. If you are under 18, you should use our services with the guidance of a parent or guardian.
4. Submissions and Your Content
When you submit work to Qwani (such as writing, artwork, film, or other material), you confirm that:
- You own or have the rights to the content you submit;
- Your content does not infringe the rights of others or break any law;
- You grant Qwani a non-exclusive licence to review, display, publish, and promote your work in connection with our platform, events, and publications, with appropriate credit.
You retain ownership of your original work. We may decline, edit for formatting, or remove submissions at our discretion.
5. Intellectual Property
The Qwani name, logo, and website content (excluding user submissions) belong to Qwani or its licensors and may not be used without permission.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Post unlawful, harmful, hateful, or infringing content;
- Impersonate others or misrepresent your affiliation;
- Disrupt, damage, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to our services.
7. Events
Participation in Qwani events may be subject to additional rules, schedules, and eligibility requirements. Events may change or be cancelled, and we will communicate updates where reasonably possible.
8. Purchases and Third-Party Services
Some products, such as our books, are sold through third parties (for example, Amazon). Those purchases are governed by the third party's terms, and we are not responsible for their services.
9. Disclaimer
Our services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, Qwani will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of our services.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Kenya, and any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the Kenyan courts.
